The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced its awards for the 2015-2016 season. "We are fortunate to have some really great people involved with the ABA," stated ABA Co-Founder Joe Newman . "They have helped to make the ABA the largest professional sports league in the US and the most diversified professional sports league in history. Jacksonville Giants is the 2016 ABA Champion team - Apr 10, 2016
After having won Game 1 of Final Series, 92-80 over the Chicago W.City Groove, the Giants defeated the Groove ‎by a score of 93 to 90 even in Game 2, to win the 2016 American Basketball Association (ABA) National Championship in Laredo, Texas. This is the Giants' third ABA Championship, previously defeating South Carolina and Dallas in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Giants' guard Maurice Mickens (6'0''-G, college: Le Moyne-Owen) finished the Finals as the Giants' leading scorer and the anticipated Finals MVP‎. 'It was a complete team victory,' said owner Ron Sholes .
