Dentmon, Austin top Los Angeles for D-League crown - Apr 29, 2012
Los Angeles D. - Austin T. 110-122 The 2012 NBA D-League Most Valuable Player Justin Dentmon (6'0''-G-85, college: Washington) scored a team-high 30 points as the Austin Toros defeated the Los Angeles D-Fenders, 122-110, in the 2012 NBA Development League Finals. Eric Dawson (6'9''-F-84, college: Midwestern St.) poured in a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Julian Wright (6'8''-F-87, college: Kansas) and Brad Wanamaker added 19 and 18 points, respectively. The Toros dropped the first game of the three-game series, but battled back with two straight victories to claim the title. Mardy Collins (6'6''-G-84, college: Temple) scored a game-high 31 points for the NBADL regular season champions. Los Angeles recorded a D-League record 38-12 mark this season, but dropped two straight to finish the season as runner-up. The Toros jumped out to an early 18-8 lead and led by as many as 14 in the first before the D-Fenders battled back to trail by just six after one. The Austin lead teetered around 10 for the majority of the second until Kareem Rush (6'6''-F-80, agency: Priority Sports, college: Missouri) buried a three-pointer with under 10 seconds left to bring Los Angeles within 67-60 heading into the locker room. Los Angeles trailed by 12 with just under three minutes left in the third before closing the frame with an 8-2 swing to pull within 94-88 after three. Five straight to start the fourth had Los Angeles within one, 94-93, but a 6-0 response from Austin had the lead back at seven. An Elijah Millsap (6'6''-G-87, agency: Interperformances, college: UAB) jumper had the D-Fenders back within three just past the midpoint of the frame, but a 7-2 swing found the Toros' lead back to eight, 113-105. Gerald Green leads West to NBADL All-Star win - Feb 26, 2012
Los Angeles D-Fenders guard Gerald Green (6'8''-G/F-86) scored 28 points and took home MVP honors in leading the West to a 135-132 win Saturday afternoon in the NBA Development League All-Star Game at the Orange County Convention Center.
Green, the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk champion, hit 10 of 17 shots from the field. Renos Blake Ahearn (6'2''-PG-84, college: Missouri St.) scored 21 points and had eight assists for the West.

All-Star Game 2012: Replacements announced - Feb 24, 2012
Five NBA D-League top prospects were today selected as replacements in the 2012 NBA Development League All-Star Game presented by 26 seconds. On the West Team's roster, Zachary Andrews (6'8''-F/C-85, college: Bradley) (Los Angeles) will replace Brandon Costner (Los Angeles), Tyren Johnson (6'8''-F-88, college: La-Lafayette) (Rio Grande Valley) will replace Lance Thomas (New Orleans Hornets/Austin Toros), and Leo Criswell-Lyons (6'9''-F-87, college: Missouri) (Austin Toros) will replace Greg Smith (Houston Rockets/Rio Grande Valley Vipers). For the East, Ehambe Moses Randall (6'6''-G/F-86, college: ORU) (Iowa Energy) will replace Walker Russell (Detroit Pistons/Fort Wayne Mad Ants) and Lawrence Hill (6'8''-F-87, college: Stanford) (Maine Red Claws) will replace Tyrell Biggs (Canton Charge). Russell, Thomas, and Smith are all being replaced following GATORADE Call-Ups to the NBA, while Biggs and Costner will sit out the game due to injury. The original 20 NBA D-League All-Stars were selected by a combination of the League's 16 head coaches and a fan vote.
Lyons, a 6-9, 240-pound forward out of Missouri is among the NBA D-League's leaders in scoring (16.6 points per game) and rebounds (8.8 rebounds per game) while Andrews, a 6-9, 230-pound forward out of Bradley ranks second in the NBA D-League in field goal percentage (.650) as a member of the NBA D-League-leading D-Fenders, who currently own a 26-10 record. Johnson is averaging 11.8 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Vipers. Ehambe is the Energy's second-leading scorer with 14.3 points per game and Hill is averaging 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds for the Red Claws.
The sixth annual NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by 26 Seconds will take place on Saturday, Feb. 25 on Center Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session and will be televised live on NBA TV at 2 p.m. ET. The fifth-annual NBA Development League Dream Factory presented by Haier will begin at halftime of the All-Star Game with the Dunk Contest, which will also air live on NBA TV. Dream Factory will resume after the game concludes with the Shooting Stars and the 3-Point Competition.
NBA D-League All-Stars must be on an active NBA D-League roster in order to participate in the game.

Justin Dentmon named 2012 D-League MVP - Apr 21, 2012
Austin Toros guard Justin Dentmon (6'0''-G-85, college: Washington) was today named the 2012 NBA Development Leagues Most Valuable Player, as voted on by the NBA D-Leagues 16 head coaches.
Dentmon, a 6-0, 185-pound guard out of Washington, started in all 40 regular season games he played for the Toros, averaging 22.8 points, 5.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 37.2 minutes. A 2012 NBA D-League All-Star, Dentmon ranked fourth in the League in scoring, finishing with double-digit points in 39 games. He led the Toros in scoring in 24 games and was the assist leader 26 times.
Twice honored for his play during the season, Dentmon was named the NBA D-League Player of the Month in January and the Performer of the Week on Jan. 17. He led the Toros to an NBA D-League 33-17 regular season record and the third seed in the NBA D-League Playoffs presented by BBVA. In two postseason game for the Toros since returning from the Raptors, he is averaging 18.0 points, 3.5 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 29.0 minutes.
A two-time Call-Up to the San Antonio Spurs and the Toronto Raptors, Dentmon appeared in six NBA games this season, averaging 4.3 points, 1.7 assists, 1.3 rebounds and 15.2 minutes.
The impressive season that Justin had for the Toros is a testament to his talent and work ethic, said Chris Alpert, Vice President of Basketball Operations and Player Personnel for the NBA D-League. His leadership helped Austin to its best season yet, while individually he earned an NBA D-League All-Star selection and two trips to the NBA. He has emerged as one of the Leagues top prospects, and I congratulate him on a fantastic season.
Dentmon will be presented with the 2012 NBA D-League Most Valuable Player trophy prior to tonights semifinal game between the Toros and the Canton Charge, which tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET in Austin.
Dentmon joins Curtis Stinson (Iowa, 2011) Mike Harris (Rio Grande Valley, 2010), Courtney Sims (Iowa, 2009), Kasib Powell (Sioux Falls, 2008), Randy Livingston (Idaho, 2007) Marcus Fizer (Austin, 2006), Charlotte Bobcats guard Matt Carroll (Roanoke, 2005), Tierre Brown (Charleston, 2004), Devin Brown (Fayetteville, 2003) and Ansu Sesay (Greenville, 2002) as winners of the annual NBA D-League MVP award.
