Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing RiverHawks alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Trey Phipps, a 6'2'' guard who graduated from Northeastern St. in 2025 and received the All-MIAA Second Team award that year, is currently playing professionally in Mexico. In a recent game, Phipps could not lead Frayles de Guasave to victory as they were narrowly defeated 90-88 by the lower-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (#8) on the road last Saturday. Despite his strong performance, where Phipps scored 11 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists in 31 minutes of play, Frayles de Guasave was unable to secure the win. Phipps showcased his skills with an impressive stat line of 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists against Los Mochis, demonstrating his value on the court. However, his individual efforts were not enough to overcome the opposing team and secure the victory for his team. Throughout the season, Phipps has been performing exceptionally well, averaging 15.2 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, and 2.3 assists per game. His consistent high-level performance highlights him as a key player for his team, despite the recent setback in the game against Pioneros Los Mochis.
#2. French player Gabriel Salibi, a 6'8'' small forward who is 28 years old and an alumnus of RiverHawks from 2018, showcased his skills in the Lebanese Decathlon Lebanese Basketball League. Playing professionally in Lebanon, he made a significant impact for Antranik in their recent game against the tenth-ranked NSA, contributing to their 104-94 victory on Tuesday night. Salibi's stat line was impressive, with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in 32 minutes of play. Antranik Beirut, currently placed fifth in the league with a record of 13-9, has been on a winning streak, with this latest triumph marking their fifth consecutive victory. This successful season for Antranik has been bolstered by Salibi's strong contributions, making him a key player for the team. Notably, this is Salibi's first season with Antranik, and his performance against NSA further solidified his reputation as a champion. His averages for the season stand at 7.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, showcasing his versatility and impact on the court. It is interesting to mention that Salibi holds both American and French citizenship, enabling him to potentially play in France as a domestic player in the future.
