Jerome Robinson, a 29-year-old guard/forward standing at 6'6'' who graduated from Boston College in 2018 and received the USBWA All-District I Team award that same year, currently plays professionally in Turkey. Despite his best efforts, Robinson could not assist Galatasaray Ekmas Istanbul (17-13) in their recent game last Saturday. In a closely contested match against the second-ranked Besiktas, Galatasaray was narrowly defeated 71-68 in a derby clash. Robinson showcased his skills by contributing 14 points and 4 assists in 33 minutes of play, making him the second-highest scorer for his team. This marks Robinson's debut season with Galatasaray. In the game against Besiktas, he displayed an impressive performance, tallying 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, although it was not enough to secure the victory for his team. Throughout the current season, Robinson has maintained an average of 8.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Despite the outcome of the match against Besiktas, Robinson's valuable contributions on the court demonstrate his capabilities as a champion player.
#2. Renowned Canadian basketball player Olivier Hanlan, standing at 6'4'' and aged 33, is a former Eagles alumni from 2015. His experience and talent were pivotal in assisting the team in securing the NBA Pro Summer League Champion title in Utah that year. Currently, he is showcasing his skills playing professionally in Serbia. In a recent game, Hanlan demonstrated his prowess on the court by leading Spartak to a narrow 76-73 victory over the 21st-ranked FMP BG in the Serbian Meridianbet Kosarkaska lige Srbije. His remarkable performance earned him the title of MVP, having scored 25 points and secured 7 rebounds during the intense 33-minute match. In a recent game, CJ Penha, a 6'8'' forward who graduated from Boston College in 2023 and currently plays professionally in Brazil, unfortunately could not lead Esporte Clube Pinheiros Sao Paolo to victory. The team suffered a defeat against Vivo/Franca, the current leading team, with a score of 82-73 in a derby match last Sunday. Even though Pinheiros lost, Penha displayed a commendable performance, emerging as the second-best scorer with 16 points and contributing 7 rebounds during his 34 minutes on the court. This impressive display showcased his talent and dedication to the team, despite it being his first season with them. Moreover, Penha continued to showcase his skills in a game against Sesi/Franca, scoring 16 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. However, his stellar performance was not enough to secure a victory for his team in that match. Throughout the season, Penha has been maintaining an average of 7.7 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game, highlighting his consistent contribution to the team's efforts on the court.
#4. Ky Bowman, a 6'1'' guard and 27-year-old Eagles alumnus from 2019, who received the USBWA All-District I Team award that year, currently plays professionally in Italy. Recently, he played a crucial role in Umana Reyer Venezia's triumph over the league leader Virtus Bologna with a score of 89-85 in the Italian Serie A match on Thursday night. In this highly anticipated game between two top 4 ranked teams, Bowman showcased his talent by contributing 7 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals in just 20 minutes of play. This victory was significant for Umana Reyer Venezia, who currently holds the fourth position in the league at 19-9. Bowman's exceptional performance, including his scoring, playmaking, and defensive efforts, proved pivotal in securing the win against a formidable opponent like Virtus Bologna. Experienced German Patrick Heckmann, a 6'6'' small forward aged 34, who graduated from Boston College in 2015 and currently plays professionally in Germany, recently showcased his skills for Telekom Baskets Bonn. Serbian Nikola Popovic, a versatile 6'11'' center/forward aged 28 and an Eagles alumnus from 2020, showcased his skills on the court by significantly contributing to Igokea's thrilling 100-97 victory over KK Bosna Meridianbet Sarajevo in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I on Sunday night. Popovic's noteworthy performance included scoring 6 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in just 19 minutes of play. His remarkable display of talent not only propelled his team to success against Bosna S. but also solidified his reputation as a true champion. Throughout the season, Popovic has maintained impressive averages of 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, showcasing his consistent contributions to the team. Additionally, it is interesting to note that Popovic holds both American and Serbian citizenship, allowing him to be considered a domestic player when competing in Serbia.
