The Manhattan Pride entered this past weekend looking to rebound after starting the season with a 2-3 record.
On Saturday afternoon, the Pride faced off against the New York Crusaders who were coming into the game with a two-game winning streak, including an impressive 109-104 victory over New York City 524.
The Pride came away with a 133-111 wire-to-wire victory. The Pride got impressive performances from Jeffrey Noel (6'5''-F, college: Vaughn), who led all scorers with 34 points and Ahmed Nagaya (6'4''-F, college: Buffalo St.), who finished the game with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Other key contributors were Nate Young (6'7''-F-86) (18 Points, 12 assists), Mike John (6'3''-G, college: Kutztown) (14 points), Rhydeem Samedi (6'4''-F) (10 points), Prince Samuels (6'3''-G) (10 points, 5 steals), Jonathan Youngmann (6'5''-F-85) (9 points), and Seon Jack (6'1''-G) (6 points, 5 assists).
On Sunday, the Pride hosted the NYC Black Eagles and came away with another wire-to-wire victory, winning the game 128-90. The Pride benefitted from a well-balanced offensive attack where everyone who played scored in double figures.
Jeffrey Noel again led the Pride in scoring with 21 points and Nate Young also finished with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. Jonathan Youngmann also finished with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Other key players included Rhydeem Samedi (17 points, 7 rebounds), Prince Samuels (18 points, 5 rebounds), and William Modeste (6'1''-G-81, college: Polytechnic) (14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals). Veteran co-captains Seon Jack (10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists) and Idris Agbaje (6'5''-F) (10 points, 10 rebounds) also played well and provided excellent leadership for the Pride.
