Beltway Bombers Capture Second APBL Title - May 20, 2017
The top-ranked Beltway Bombers closed out the APBL season defeating second-seeded APBL United 123-105 to win the American Professional Basketball League championship.
The Bombers had seven players who scored in double-figures led by the championship game MVP Derrell Armstrong (6'1''-G-91, college: NC-Greensboro)'s 24 points. In a total team championship, Danny Sumner (6'7''-F-87, college: William & Mary), Boo Jackson, Brian Bridgeforth (6'10''-F), Jaymee Veney (6'0''-F) and Tim Steed (6'5''-G) all scored in double-figures for the Bombers. It was a tough hard fought win against a very talented United team. This is the Bombers second APBL championship in the last four years.
