#1. Taevon Horton (6'2''-G-1999, played in 2022-23, plays pro in Azerbaijan) led Gence to a victory against the closely-ranked Sumqayit (6-12) 86-82 in the Azerbaijani ABL last Saturday. Horton scored 19 points, had 7 boards, dished 4 assists and stole 3 balls in 30 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. Gence BK Ganja (0-4) is placed sixth in the ABL. The Regular Season already ended. It's Horton's first year with the team. Horton has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.4apg and 1.4spg in 18 games he played so far. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
#2. Frank Agyemang (6'4''-G-1996, graduated '2020, plays in the BSL) could not help the West Virginia Grind in their last game on Friday. Despite Agyemang's very good performance the West Virginia Grind (#5) was defeated 138-128 on the road by the Windsor Express. He was the second best scorer with 20 points. Agyemang also added 9 rebounds. Agyemang has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 19.0ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.0apg.
#3. Anthony Pittman (6'5''-G/F, played in 2019-24, currently in the TBL) is a teammate of previously mentioned Frank Agyemang. But that was another game of his team in TBL which we would like to mention. Pittman contributed to a West Virginia Grind's victory against the Virginia Valley Vipers (7-9) 128-118. He scored 14 points in just a mere 13 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Pittman's first season in pro basketball. The West Virginia Grind has rather weak 3-10 record this season. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Pittman has very impressive stats this year 16.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.3apg and 2.7spg in three games.
#4. Bradlee Lewis (6'4''-SG-1998, played in 2021-22, plays pro in the TBL) was not able to help the Santa Ana Thunder in their game against the Wichita Skykings (2-10) in the TBL. He scored 8 points and added 4 assists. The Santa Ana Thunder (#5) was edged121-119 in Wichita by the Skykings. Lewis has relatively good stats this season 10.2ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.4apg and 1.7spg.
#5. Experienced William Collins (6'1''-G-1988, played in 2007-11, plays in the TBL) is a teammate of previously mentioned Frank Agyemang. He played also in the last TBL game facing Anthony Pittman (above) in the other team. Collins managed to help West Virginia Grind in a victory against the Virginia Valley Vipers (7-9) 128-118. He scored only 2 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 9 minutes on the court. It's Collins' first season with the team. This year Collins averages 8.8ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.7apg and 1.6spg in 12 games. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
