#1. In a recent game, the talented and accomplished player, BJ Fitzgerald, standing at an impressive 6'6'' and 25 years old, a graduate of Virginia St. in 2023, and recipient of the prestigious All-CIAA First Team award, showcased his skills on the court as he competed for Indios in the Dominican Republic. Facing off against the sixth-ranked Caneros, Fitzgerald played a pivotal role in his team's 85-81 victory on a Sunday night in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. Despite it being only his third season in professional basketball, Fitzgerald delivered a remarkable performance, recording 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in 34 minutes of play. Indios de San Francisco, currently holding a solid fifth position in the Places 1-6 group with a record of 13-4, benefited greatly from Fitzgerald's contributions on the court. The Second Stage of the league has already concluded, with Fitzgerald's standout performance against the Caneros further highlighting his capabilities as a true champion. His impressive stat line of averaging 20.1 points per game (the second-best in the league), along with 4.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in the 17 games he has played this season, underscores his exceptional talent and significant impact in the league.
#2. Elijah Moore, a 6'8'' forward and a 31-year-old alumnus of the Trojans from 2017, was instrumental in their CIAA Northern Division Regular Season Co-Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in the ECBL, Moore recently faced a tough match where his team, the Petersburg Cavaliers (11-2), fell just short against the Carolina Thunder with a close score of 125-124 on the road. In the game, Moore showcased his skills with an impressive stat line, contributing 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Despite his noteworthy performance, the Petersburg Cavaliers were unable to secure the victory. With only one more game left in the East Coast Basketball League Regular Season, Moore's team faces a crucial match ahead. This marks Moore's seventh season with the team, and he has been a consistent performer throughout the season. Averaging 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game in the 10 games he has played so far, Moore has been a standout player. Additionally, Moore's experience extends beyond the ECBL as he also participated in the Eurobasket Summer League, which played a significant role in helping him secure his professional basketball career.
