Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing Mustangs alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Jordan Stevens, a 6'0'' point guard who graduated from Midwestern State in 2016 and received the All-LSC All-Tournament MVP award that year, currently plays professionally in Lebanon. In a recent game, despite his exceptional performance, Stevens couldn't prevent his team, Homentmen (11-11), from suffering a significant 118-98 defeat in a crucial match against the second-ranked team, Sagesse, in a derby game. Stevens showcased his skills by scoring 30 points and contributing 9 assists in the 40 minutes he played. Despite his impressive individual performance, Homentmen couldn't secure the victory against Sagesse. Throughout the season, Stevens has maintained high statistics, averaging 25.5 points per game (the second-best in the league), along with 4.3 rebounds, 8.1 assists (the third-best in the league), and 1.1 steals per game in the 23 games he has participated in so far. His consistent performance highlights him as a standout player in the league.
#2. Experienced champion Brandon Neel, a 6'4'' shooting guard who is 33 years old and an alumnus of the Mustangs from 2018, is currently playing professionally in the TBL. In a recent game, he played a crucial role in the Tri-City Tide's victory over the Raleigh Firebirds with a score of 106-102. Despite only scoring 8 points in 18 minutes, Neel's contribution was significant as it helped his team secure the win. The game was highly anticipated as it featured two of the top 2 ranked teams in the Atlantic Canada group. The Tri-City Tide, with a record of 20-3 this season, managed to clinch their ninth consecutive victory, thanks in part to Neel's performance on the court. His 8 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist against the Raleigh Firebirds showcased his skill and leadership, ultimately leading his team to triumph and earning him the title of champion of the game. Throughout this season, Neel has been averaging 6.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in the 21 games he has played so far. Apart from his success in the TBL, Neel is also a former player in the Eurobasket Summer League, a prestigious international summer league known for showcasing top talent in the market.
