Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing Tigers alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Australian champion Kailey Neave, a 6'2'' guard who graduated from Pacific in 2025 and currently plays professionally in Australia, recently faced a tough challenge in the Australian Big V league. Despite her efforts, Neave could not lead Pakenham Warriors (7-3) to a victory over the formidable Cougars (8-1), one of the top teams in the league. In the matchup, Pakenham Warriors suffered a heavy defeat on the road, losing 95-69 to the Cougars, marking their first loss after a streak of three consecutive wins. Neave, in her first season with the team, contributed 2 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. Though she displayed her skills and maintained solid performance throughout the game, she acknowledged that it was not one of her best showings. Despite the setback, Neave has been putting up respectable numbers this season, averaging 10.5 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game in the 10 games she has played so far. Her dedication and talent on the court continue to make her a key player for Pakenham Warriors as they strive for success in the league.
#2. British champion Samantha Ashby, a 5'10'' guard and 25-year-old Tigers alumna from 2023 who received an All-WCC Honorable Mention award that year, currently plays professionally in Australia. In the recent game, Ashby, despite her exceptional performance, was unable to lead the 12th-placed Perth Redbacks (2-7) to victory against the higher-ranked Magic (#6) in the West group. The Perth Redbacks suffered a 84-96 loss in Mandurah, with Ashby contributing 20 points and 5 rebounds in 27 minutes of play. This impressive display is particularly noteworthy as it is only Ashby's third season in professional basketball. Although Ashby showcased her talent by scoring 20 points and grabbing 5 rebounds against Mandurah Magic, her team faced their fourth consecutive loss. Throughout the season, Ashby has maintained outstanding individual statistics, averaging 23.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.3 steals per game over seven matches. Additionally, it is interesting to note that Ashby holds both American and British citizenship, enabling her to play in the United Kingdom as a domestic player.
