Look at great performance of Devon Dotson (10 points), Cheick Diallo (22 points), and Thomas Robinson (22 points).
#1. Devon Dotson, the 26-year-old point guard who graduated from Kansas in 2020 after helping them win the Big 12 Regular Season Champion title that year, is currently playing professionally in Turkey. In a recent match, he played a key role in Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul's 82-79 victory over Bahcesehir, a closely-ranked opponent with a record of 21-9, in a highly anticipated game in the Turkish ING Basketbol Super Ligi. Dotson's performance was crucial in the team's win, as he contributed 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists in just 22 minutes of play. This game was a showdown between two top 4 ranked teams, with Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul (25-5) currently holding the second position in the league standings. Dotson's impressive display on the court showcased his skills and leadership, ultimately leading his team to success. Throughout the season, Dotson has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in the 32 games he has played so far. His consistent contributions have been instrumental in his team's performance, solidifying his position as a key player for Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul.
#2. Mali Cheick Diallo, a 6'9'' center/forward and 29-year-old Jayhawks alumnus from 2016, currently plays professionally in Puerto Rico. Despite his efforts, Diallo could not help Osos de Manati (10-16) secure a victory in their recent game against the higher-ranked (#3) Gigantes in the Group B. The sixth-placed Manati team was narrowly edged out 82-81 on the road, with Diallo contributing significantly by being the top scorer with 22 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in 28 minutes of play. In another game against Carolina, Diallo once again showcased his talent by scoring 22 points and securing 8 rebounds. However, despite his impressive performance, his team did not manage to come out on top. Throughout the season, Diallo has maintained high statistics, averaging 18.7 points per game and 11.0 rebounds per game in three games. His individual success on the court reflects his skill and dedication as a player.
#3. Experienced champion Thomas Robinson, a 6'8'' center who is 35 years old and graduated from Kansas in 2012, currently plays professionally in Puerto Rico. In a recent game, he led Leones de Ponce to a victory over the third-ranked Santeros with a score of 98-91 in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional. Robinson not only played a pivotal role in the win but also earned the title of MVP for his outstanding performance. He showcased his skills by scoring 22 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists in just 25 minutes of gameplay. Leones de Ponce, currently placed fourth in Group A with an 11-16 record, has been on a winning streak, securing their third consecutive victory. Robinson's leadership and contributions on the court have been instrumental in the team's recent successes. In another game against Aguada, he again displayed his prowess by scoring an impressive 22 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and leading his team to another victory. Throughout the season, Robinson has maintained solid stats, averaging 11.3 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game in three matches. His consistent performance highlights his capabilities as a true champion in the sport.
#4. David McCormack, a 6'10'' center and 26-year-old Jayhawks alumnus from 2022, played a pivotal role in helping his team achieve the title of Big 12 Regular Season Co-Champion that year. He currently showcases his skills as a professional basketball player in Germany, representing FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball. In a recent match against the Telekom Baskets, McCormack contributed significantly to FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball's impressive victory with a scoreline of 91-69. Despite scoring just 4 points in 12 minutes of play, the game was a crucial showdown between two top 4 ranked teams. FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball, boasting a stellar record of 29-5, holds the top spot in the league standings, thanks in part to McCormack's efforts on the court. The triumph over the Telekom Baskets marked his team's ninth consecutive win, highlighting their dominance in the league. This season marks McCormack's debut with FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball, and his performance has been noteworthy, averaging 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game across 26 appearances. In a recent matchup against Bonn, McCormack's impact was undeniable as he contributed 4 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist, aiding his team in securing victory as the champion. His consistent contributions and adaptability on the court make him a valuable asset to his team. Notably, David McCormack holds American citizenship, adding to the diverse and talented roster of FC Bayern Muenchen Basketball.
#5. Jeff Withey, a 7'0'' center who graduated from Kansas in 2013 and now plays professionally in Indonesia, recently showcased his skills on the court despite his team's loss in a crucial game. In the matchup against Dewa United, Withey delivered an impressive performance, recording a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Additionally, he contributed 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals while maintaining a perfect free-throw shooting record, highlighting his versatility and impact on the game. Despite Withey's outstanding individual performance, his team, Pelita Jaya, was narrowly defeated by Dewa United with a score of 78-76. However, his exceptional display during the game earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, recognizing his excellence as a champion player. Throughout the season, Withey has been consistently performing at a high level, averaging 16.7 points, 12.9 rebounds (ranking fourth best in the league), 2.2 assists, 2.6 blocks (second best in the league), and 1.4 steals per game across 22 games.
