Especially interesting is good performance of Moses Wood (11 points), Jaylen Nowell (19 points), and Samuel Timmins (17 points).
#1. Moses Wood, a 6'8'' forward who graduated from Washington in 2024 and currently plays professionally in Germany, recently showcased his skills as a champion by leading ALBA Berlin to a resounding 97-66 victory over Bamberg in the German easyCredit BBL. In this highly anticipated matchup between two top 4 ranked teams, Wood's stellar performance was instrumental in securing the win for his team, which currently holds the second position in the league standings. Despite playing for only 19 minutes, Wood managed to score an impressive 11 points and grab 3 rebounds against Bamberg. This solid contribution not only helped ALBA Berlin emerge victorious but also highlighted Wood's prowess on the court as a finalist. Throughout the season, Wood has maintained an average of 9.4 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game in the 44 games he has played so far, further solidifying his reputation as a talented and impactful player in the league.
#2. Jaylen Nowell, a 6'4'' guard and 26-year-old alum of the Huskies from 2019, currently plays professionally in Puerto Rico. Despite his notable achievements, including winning the All-Pac Player of the Year award in 2019, Nowell was unable to guide Gigantes de Carolina to victory in their recent game. The team, currently in third place with a 15-11 record, suffered a close 89-93 defeat on the road against the Group B leaders, Atleticos. In the game, Nowell showcased his skills by scoring 19 points, making him the second-highest scorer of the match. Additionally, he contributed 4 assists during his 31 minutes on the court. This loss marked Gigantes de Carolina's first defeat following a streak of three consecutive wins. In a previous game against San German, Nowell displayed another strong performance, scoring 19 points, securing 1 rebound, and distributing 4 assists. Despite his impressive efforts, his team was unable to secure the victory. Individually, Nowell is having a standout year with impressive statistics. He leads the league in scoring, averaging 22.3 points per game, along with 2.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists over 26 games.
#3. New Zealand's Samuel Timmins, a 6'11'' forward/center who is 29 years old and a graduate of Washington in 2020, currently plays professionally in New Zealand. He played a crucial role in the Southland Sharks' recent victory against the Giants, one of the league's weaker teams with a 3-9 record, with a final score of 95-85 in the New Zealand National Basketball League last Saturday. Timmins displayed his talent by scoring 17 points, securing 6 rebounds, distributing 4 assists, and blocking 2 shots during his 33 minutes on the court. The Southland Sharks, with a record of 11-2, currently hold the top spot in the league, thanks in part to Timmins's exceptional performance. Individually, Timmins has had an impressive season, boasting high statistics. He maintains an average of 19.3 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game (ranking third in the league), 4.3 assists per game, and 1.8 blocks per game (leading the league) over the course of 12 games. His consistent performance and leadership on the court have solidified his position as a standout finalist in the league.
#4. Nahziah Carter, a 6'6'' guard and 26-year-old Huskies alummi from the class of 2020, currently playing professionally in Venezuela, was unable to lift Guaiqueries (15-9) to victory in their recent match. Despite Carter's strong showing, Guaiqueries narrowly lost 71-68 at home to the lower-ranked (#6) Marinos. Carter exhibited his skills on the court, contributing 12 points in just 21 minutes of play against Marinos. His performance was noteworthy, as he not only scored 12 points but also secured 1 rebound and provided 1 assist. Despite his individual efforts, Guaiqueries fell short and were unable to secure the win. Throughout this season, Carter has been averaging 6.5 points per game, which ranks as the third best in the league, along with 1.5 rebounds per game across two games played. His consistent contributions make him a valuable asset to his team as they strive to compete for the championship title.
#5. Nate Roberts, a 6'11'' forward who is 26 years old and a graduate of Washington in 2022, currently plays professionally in Holland. In the recent game, Roberts showcased his skills by scoring 10 points and securing 7 rebounds in a 24-minute performance. Despite his notable contribution, ZZ Leiden, the team he plays for, suffered a 61-75 defeat on their home court in Leiden against the lower-ranked Zwolle. In a recent game, Crisp led the Seattle Super Hawks to a resounding 150-124 victory over the Yakima Heat, where he was named the MVP of the match. Despite being a naturalized American, Dime continues to excel and make valuable contributions to his team as a standout player and finalist in the league.
#8. Tyree Ihenacho, a 6'4'' guard aged 24 and an alumnus of the Huskies from 2025, showcased his skills in a recent match playing professionally in Paraguay. In a thrilling derby game, he played a crucial role in Olimpia Kings' victory over the closely-ranked Colonias, with a final score of 90-80. He contributed significantly by scoring 7 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in just 19 minutes of play. His performance was instrumental in securing the win for his team, ultimately leading them to be crowned as the champion of the match. Throughout the season, Ihenacho has been a standout player, averaging impressive statistics of 10.0 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, 2.9 assists per game, and 1.8 steals per game, which ranks him as the fourth-best in the league in steals.
