TriCounty-2012 SEBL Metro A-League Champions - Aug 14, 2012

TriCounty defeated Marietta Outlaws Sunday in the Metro A-League finals for their first SEBL Championship title. Going into the playoffs, TriCounty was the 4th seed in the south division and Outlaws were the 1st in the north division. TriCountys Mike Crain (6'2''-G-84, college: Valdosta St.) was the show of the night scoring 35 points of which 15 came from the 3-point line. Crane consistently got to the free throw line throughout the game giving his team a scoring advantage. Outlaws Trey Moore was their high scorer with 32 points and 4 assist.

The final score was 127-116. Mike Crain was named league MVP for his outstanding performances throughout the season.

Columbus Storm-City B-League Champions - Aug 13, 2012

Columbus Storm coached by Irvin Barnett defeated the Bartow Braves in the City B-League Championship game Sunday evening. Bartow Braves got off to a strong start in the first quarter led by Zeek Reed who scored 7 quick points which forced the Storm to a timeout and substitutions. As time went on, the Braves slowly lost momentum being outscored by 12 points in the 2nd quarter. Braves could not find an answer for guards Josh Spears (6'3''-G, college: W.Alabama) (6'3''-G) and Ralph Miller who both dominated offensively and defensively for the majority of the game. The deficit for the Braves spread even more after half time as the Storm run away with the win. 105-74.

This marks the first Championship title for the Columbus Storm. Josh Spears was named MVP for the City B-League averaging 18.7 points a game.
