Icelandic basketball player Sigrun Olafsdottir, a 24-year-old guard standing at 5'9'', graduated from Chattanooga in 2025 and played a crucial role in helping them secure the Icelandic League Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Iceland, Olafsdottir recently faced a tough match where her team, Haukar (16-6), was unable to defeat Njardvik (15-7) in the Icelandic Bonus League. Despite her best efforts, Monday's game was not one of her standout performances, as she contributed 2 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in 33 minutes of play. In a closely contested game, Haukar (16-6) suffered a 70-75 loss on the road to Njardvik, who held the second rank in the Places 1-5 group. Olafsdottir, the champion player, put up a solid performance with 2 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists against Njardvik. However, her individual efforts were not enough to secure the much-needed victory for her team. Throughout this season, Olafsdottir has been averaging 7.4 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game (the second-best in the league), 4.1 assists per game, and leads the league with 3.3 steals per game in the 30 games she has played so far. Her consistent performance and leadership on the court have been instrumental in her team's success as they strive for further achievements in the league.
