Spanish champion Alonso Faure, a 6'10'' forward who is 24 years old and graduated from Pepperdine in 2025, but previously played at Loyola University Maryland from 2020 to 2024, showcased his skills as he helped Oviedo secure a crucial victory over Gipuzkoa in the Spanish Primera FEB (second division) last Sunday. Faure's impressive performance included scoring 10 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and contributing 1 assist in just 22 minutes of play. Oviedo Baloncesto, currently placed fifth in the league with a record of 19-13, benefited greatly from Faure's contributions as they secured their third consecutive win. This marks Faure's first season with the team, and his impact on the court has been notable. With an average of 7.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in the 34 games he has played this season, Faure has proven himself to be a key player for Oviedo. Faure's exceptional performance against Gipuzkoa truly highlighted his abilities as a champion, playing a pivotal role in leading his team to victory.
