#1. New Zealand's Tayla Dalton, a 24-year-old guard standing at 5'9'' who graduated from Gonzaga in 2025, played a crucial role in helping her team clinch the New Zealand League Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Australia, Dalton recently showcased her talent in a game where the Waverley Falcons emerged victorious against the fifth-ranked Diamond Valley Eagles with a score of 71-62 in the Australian NBL One North, which is the second division league. During the game, Dalton displayed her skills by scoring 9 points, making 3 impressive passes, and recording 5 steals, all within 27 minutes of playtime. Despite her team being placed seventh in the South group with an 8-5 record, Dalton's individual performance has been outstanding, contributing significantly to her team's recent success of securing their fourth consecutive victory. Against the Diamond Valley Eagles, Dalton once again proved herself as a finalist by scoring 9 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and providing 3 assists. Her all-around performance on the court highlighted her capabilities and determination as a champion player. Throughout the season, Dalton has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in the 13 games she has played so far.
#2. Cierra Walker, a 28-year-old 5'8'' forward and Bulldogs alumna from 2022, showcased her skills as a professional basketball player in Australia. She recently led the Cockburn Cougars to a remarkable victory over the fifth-ranked Giants with a final score of 87-77 in the Australian NBL One North league, which is the second division in the country. This victory further solidified her reputation as a talented athlete. During the game, Cierra Walker demonstrated exceptional performance and was named the Most Valuable Player. She contributed significantly to her team's success by scoring 18 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in the 37 minutes she played. Her remarkable display of talent played a pivotal role in securing the win for her team, ultimately earning her the title of champion of the game. Currently, the Cockburn Cougars hold the second position in the West group with a record of 9-2, largely due to Walker's impressive contributions on the court. Throughout the season, she has maintained solid statistics, averaging 14.4 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game in the seven games played so far. Walker's consistent performance and leadership qualities make her a standout player in the league, showcasing her potential to excel and make a significant impact in the world of basketball.
