

Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing Lakers alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Simun Kovac (6'8''-C-1996, played in 2017-18, plays pro in Croatia) could not help Zagreb (12-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance Zagreb was edged91-89 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Kastela. Kovac scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 24 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Kovac averages 6.0ppg and 5.9rpg in 12 games he played so far.
#2. Experienced Akeem Scott (5'11''-SG-1983, played in 2002-04, plays in Indonesia) was not able to help Borneo in their game against Bali United (3-12) in the Indonesian IBL. Despite his very good performance on Sunday night Scott was the top scorer with 22 points. He also added 8 rebounds and dished 8 assists. It was his first game for Borneo this season. It's Scott's first year with the team. Scott is a naturalized Jamaican. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
#3. Rze Culbreath (6'1''-G-1994, played in 2014-16, currently in the TBL) managed to help Virginia Valley Vipers in a victory against the Jersey Shore Breaks (2-12) 135-128 in the TBL on Sunday night. Culbreath recorded only 3 points in 15 minutes. The Virginia Valley Vipers have a solid 8-3 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Culbreath averages 3.9ppg and 1.3apg in nine games.
#4. Malik Whitaker (6'6''-G-2000, played in 2019-22, plays pro in Germany) was the major contributor in a SV Fellbach Flashers' victory against the 11th-ranked Skyliners II (10-16) 82-68 in the German ProB (third division) in Saturday night's game. He scored 22 points; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Whitaker's first season in pro basketball. SV Fellbach Flashers (17-9) is placed third in South group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Whitaker's first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Whitaker averages 18.0ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.8apg and 2.2spg.
