Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing Eagles alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Da'Sean Nelson (6'8''-F/C-2002, played in 2024-25, plays pro in Switzerland) was the major contributor in Fribourg's victory against the closely-ranked Pully (2-2) crushing them 107-81 in the Swiss SBL last Friday. He scored 23 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Nelson's first season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Fribourg Olympic (4-0) is placed second in the SBL. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Nelson has relatively good stats this year 13.6ppg, 7.2rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2bpg and 2.0spg in five games he played so far.
#2. James Thompson IV (6'10''-C/F-1995, played in 2015-19, plays in Montenegro) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Panionios (1-3) crushing them 91-63 in the Eurocup on Wednesday night. Thompson IV recorded 9 points. KK Buducnost VOLI Podgorica (2-2) is placed fourth in the Eurocup. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Thompson IV's first year with the team. This season he averages 7.0ppg and 2.8rpg.
#3. Jalin Billingsley (6'8''-F-2002, played in 2022-25, currently in North Macedonia), who plays in the North Macedonian Prva Liga could not help Cair 2030 (0-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance Cair 2030 was badly defeated82-64 in a derby game by the much higher-ranked (#4) TFT. Billingsley had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 4 blocks in 33 minutes. So far Cair 2030 lost all three games in the Regular Season. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. Billingsley has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 16.0ppg, 10.0rpg and 1.7bpg in three games.
#4. Boubacar Toure (7'0''-C-1995, played in 2017-20, plays pro in Japan) managed to help Sendai 89ers to win against the tenth-ranked NeoPhoenix (3-4) 87-86 in the Japanese B1 League last Sunday. He recorded only 3 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Sendai 89ers (5-2) are placed third in East group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. This season Toure averages 7.4ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.3spg.
