#1. South Sudanese Junior Madut, standing at 6'5'' and 29 years old, is a standout player who graduated from Hawaii in 2023. He previously played for E. Florida St. from 2017 to 2020 before joining the professional league in Australia. In a recent game, despite his exceptional performance, the Rockhampton Rockets, currently placed tenth with a 2-5 record, suffered a tough loss on the road against the ninth-ranked Wizards in the North group, with a final score of 112-95. Madut displayed his skills by leading the scoring for his team with an impressive 27 points, along with contributing 5 assists and 3 steals, all within 35 minutes of play. This remarkable performance is even more noteworthy considering that Madut is only in his third season of professional basketball. In a previous game against Northside W, he showcased his abilities once again by scoring 27 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists, displaying his versatility on the court. Throughout the season, Madut has maintained high statistics, averaging 16.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in the five games he has played so far. It is also interesting to note that Madut holds dual citizenship, being both American and South Sudanese, which allows him to play in South Sudan as a domestic player. His exceptional skills and contributions make him a key player to watch as he continues to excel in his basketball career.
#2. Eli Abaev, a 6'8'' forward/center who is 27 years old, is an Eagles alum from 2021, having previously played at E. Florida St. between 2016 and 2018. During his time there, he played a key role in helping them become the Mid-Florida Conference Regular Season Champion in that year. Currently playing professionally in Israel, Abaev recently competed in the Israeli National League (second division) for I. Nahariya, who unfortunately fell short against M. Ashdod with a final score of 70-85 on the opponent's court in the Play-Off group. This loss occurred despite Abaev's notable performance, where he scored 8 points, secured 10 rebounds, and provided 4 assists in 22 minutes of play. Even though it's Abaev's first season with the team, he has been showcasing impressive skills throughout the games. His overall season statistics reflect this, with averages of 10.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in 14 appearances. It is interesting to note that Abaev holds both American and Israeli citizenship, enabling him to compete in Israel as a domestic player.
#3. Ruot Monyyong, a 6'11'' forward who graduated from UALR in 2021 but previously played for E. Florida St. between 2017 and 2018, where he helped them secure the Mid-Florida Conference Regular Season Champion title that year, is currently showcasing his skills in professional basketball in Mexico. In a recent game, he played a pivotal role in leading his team, Frayles de Guasave, to a resounding 111-83 victory over the eighth-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (18-22) in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico. Monyyong displayed his versatility on the court by scoring 8 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in just 26 minutes of play. Frayles de Guasave, with a record of 23-17, currently holds the second position in the league standings. Monyyong's exceptional performance against Los Mochis not only helped secure the win for his team but also highlighted his impact as a key player. His contributions proved instrumental in propelling his team towards victory, ultimately emerging as the champion in that game. Throughout the current season, Monyyong has maintained solid averages of 9.4 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 1.3 blocks per game, which ranks him as the fourth-best shot blocker in the league. With his consistent performance and valuable contributions, Monyyong continues to make a significant impact on the court for Frayles de Guasave, showcasing his prowess as a talented player and a true champion.
#4. South African player Osayi Osifo, a 6'8'' forward aged 26, is a former Dolphins alum from 2023. He previously played for E. Florida St. between 2018 and 2020, where he helped his team to win the Mid-Florida Conference Regular Season Co-Champion title in 2020. Osifo currently plays professionally in Egypt. Recently, Osifo competed in a game where Al Ahly Cairo (4-1) faced Ahly Benghazi (3-2) in the Basketball Africa League. Despite his efforts, Osifo could not lead Al Ahly Cairo to victory, as they lost 98-106 to the lower-ranked (#3) Ahly team. In the game, Osifo showcased his skills by scoring 8 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists in 24 minutes of play. Although he put up an impressive performance, his team fell short against Ahly Benghazi. Throughout the season, Osifo has been a consistent contributor for his team, averaging 7.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game over nine games. His strong play has been instrumental for his team's success as they aim to compete for the championship title.
#5. Dominican Republic's Jhery Matos, a 6'5'' shooting guard who is 30 years old, graduated from Charlotte in 2021. However, he previously played for East Florida State between 2016 and 2017, where he helped lead them to the final of NJCAA D1 District VIII in that year. Currently, he is playing professionally in the Dominican Republic. In a recent game, Matos played a key role in Metros' 95-82 victory over the league leaders, Reales (8-9), in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. During the game, he scored 9 points and made 6 assists in just 19 minutes of play. The matchup was highly anticipated as it featured two of the top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. Metros de Santiago, with a record of 13-4, currently holds the third position in the standings. Matos' stellar performance against Reales highlighted his abilities as a champion player, helping his team secure a crucial win in a game that was pivotal for their season. With only one more game left in the Regular Season, Matos and his team are gearing up for a critical match ahead. Throughout this year, Matos has been averaging 7.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in the two games he has played. His consistent contributions on the court demonstrate his skills and value as a finalist player.
#6. Christyon Eugene, a 6'3'' guard and 25-year-old Trojans alumnus from 2024 who also played at E. Florida St. between 2020 and 2021, helped his team secure the FCSAA Central Conference Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Serbia, Eugene recently faced Spartak while representing FMP BG but was unable to lead his team to victory. Despite his efforts, including scoring 2 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 22 minutes of play, his team suffered a close 76-73 loss. Although Eugene put on an impressive performance in the game, it was not one of his standout moments. Throughout the season, Eugene has been averaging 4.3 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game in the four games played so far.
#7. C.J. Jackson, a 6'1'' point guard who graduated from Ohio State in 2019 and previously played at East Florida State between 2015 and 2016, showcased his skills in Vietnam's Vietnam Basketball Association. In a recent game, he led the Nhatrang Dolphins to a thrilling 85-82 victory over the Heat, earning the title of MVP. Jackson's impressive performance included scoring 27 points, securing 11 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in a 40-minute game. His standout display against the Heat not only led his team to victory but also earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, highlighting his prowess as a champion on the court. Throughout the season, Jackson has maintained high statistics, averaging 21.3 points per game (the third-best in the league), along with 9.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists in four games.
#8. Shaheed Davis, a 6'9'' power forward who is 32 years old, is an alumnus of the Golden Knights' class of 2016. He previously played for East Florida State between 2013 and 2014, where he played a pivotal role in helping them clinch the Southern Conference Champion title that year. Currently, he is playing professionally in Thailand. In a recent match for Hitech Bangkok City in the Thailand Basketball Thai League, Shaheed Davis emerged as a standout player. He was a major contributor in his team's impressive 106-50 victory over the sixth-ranked Sripatum University. In that game, he showcased his skills by scoring 14 points, securing 4 rebounds, and delivering 8 assists in just 27 minutes of play. This performance marked his debut game for Hitech Bangkok City this season. Shaheed Davis's remarkable display on the court against Sripatum University exemplified his prowess as a champion. His significant contributions were instrumental in leading his team to victory, underscoring his importance as a key player.
#9. Nigerian athlete Mike Nuga, a 6'2'' guard at 28 years old, graduated from UNLV in 2022. During his time at Eastern Florida State College from 2016 to 2018, he was instrumental in helping them become the Mid-Florida Conference Regular Season Champions. Nuga now plays professionally in Canada and recently showcased his skills for the Edmonton Stingers. In a recent game against the Surge, he contributed 5 points in 20 minutes, aiding his team to a 104-98 victory in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. In another standout performance against Calgary, Nuga scored 5 points, secured 1 rebound, and provided 1 assist, playing a key role in his team's success. His consistent excellence on the court has cemented his reputation as a champion. Throughout this season, Nuga has maintained an average of 6.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game across five games. Notably, Nuga holds both American and Nigerian citizenship, allowing him to participate as a domestic player in Nigeria if desired.
